Nikki Gordon

Support Coordinator

Nikki has 30+ years lived experience as a parent of a child (now adult) with a challenging intellectual disability. Nikki’s experiences include challenging those obstacles which arise throughout the education for children with challenging behaviours, supported independent living from 16yo, mental health and the justice system. Nikki is a holistic support coordinator looking not just at the person on the NDIS but the functioning of the family as a whole.

Nikki’s experiences also include the Board Chair of the Northern Carer’s Network and Chairperson of the Governing Council at her son’s government special school. Nikki has worked on the ground as a support worker and in a managerial role for a disability support provider.

She has now turned her attention to the world of support coordination and seeks to get the best of value from NDIS funding to serve the best interests of the participants.

Additionally, Nikki has a double degree in Commerce and Law, and spent 11 years working for the Education Department in a quasi-legal complaint resolution role in both the Feedback Unit and the Ethical Conduct Unit. Roles included presenting matters before the Equal Opportunity Commission and the Human Rights Commission. Nikki has supplemented legal training with alternative dispute resolution, using mediation and conciliation methods to engage people and resolve disputes.
